Meet Mandy: Capturing the Heartbeat of the Moment

Hi, I’m Mandy. My journey into photography didn’t start with a course or a textbook; it started the day I was born. Some of my earliest memories are wrapped in the click of my father’s Nikkormat FT2—an old SLR that went on every family outing, capturing the lives of my twin sister, Debbie, and me. We grew up surrounded by suitcases of prints because we’d long since run out of wall space! Those giggles we share today while flipping through old photos are the reason I do what I do.

Originally a daughter of the vibrant shores of Cape Town, South Africa, I now call the lovely village of Milford, Godalming, Surrey, my home. Here, alongside my wonderful husband, David, and our two spirited daughters, Jessica and Anna, I’ve turned a lifelong obsession into a professional craft.

From Heritage to High-Tech

While my heart is nostalgic, my kit is cutting-edge. I’ve transitioned from the reliable Nikon D7100 to the incredible Nikon Z8 mirrorless system. This technology allows me to work silently and swiftly, capturing those "blink-and-you’ll-miss-it" connections with breathtaking clarity. Whether it’s a milestone wedding or a chaotic, beautiful family session in the Surrey Hills, I’m looking for the honest moments that deserve to be frozen in time.
